The NLC, conceived with a dual purpose of elevating learning outcomes and enhancing teaching practices, is slated to span a duration of three to five weeks, commencing on July 24 and concluding on August 25, 2023. It will encompass three days dedicated to fostering teacher-learner engagement and an additional two days focused on collaborative expertise development through Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions conducted among educators.
This voluntary program's phased introduction will initially target Grades 7 and 8, concentrating on core subjects such as English, Science, and Mathematics. Simultaneously, schools will have the flexibility to organize other EOSY break activities, such as Reading and Mathematics Programs tailored to Grades 1 to 3, as well as enrichment initiatives for various grade levels. This approach ensures comprehensive learning recovery across all grade levels.
To cater to the unique learning needs of students, they will be categorized into one of three camps: Enhancement Camp, Consolidation Camp, or Intervention Camp. These camps are designed to create a camp-like atmosphere, seamlessly integrating enjoyable and engaging activities aimed at nurturing learner interests, enhancing socio-emotional skills, fostering personal growth, and nurturing character development.
It is noteworthy that the participation of teachers in the NLC is voluntary. In acknowledgment of their dedicated commitment beyond regular school days, participating teachers will be duly compensated with vacation service credits, certificates of recognition, and other incentives, contingent upon the availability of funds and established guidelines.
DepEd extends a warm invitation to both internal and external stakeholders, seeking their valued support in ensuring the success of this year's National Learning Camp. Your partnership is instrumental in achieving our shared objectives of enhancing education and fostering the holistic development of our learners.
