Teachers and other school staff will welcome back students with a variety of pandemic-related experiences when they resume regular classes. Some people may have had severe stress and psychological effects as a result of their lengthy isolation and disruption of their social life. Others might have been subjected to abuse and neglect.
Children from low-income families were particularly at risk from the pandemic's economic effects. Teachers and school staff must adapt to the various pandemic effects by meeting the students where they are and promoting their health and welfare when they return to face-to-face instruction. A crisis encounter may momentarily throw someone out of balance. Consequently, a period that can play a role in the recovery after a crisis is the return to school.
