BENEFITS:
Benefits include travel subsidy, health insurance and other benefits. Salary will be based on the teacher's highest level of education and number of years of teaching as a full-time teacher.Monthly Salary (Depending on teaching experience)
Holders of a bachelor’s degree: NT$ 62,720~78,045.
Holders of a master’s degree: NT$ 69,965~86,820.
Holders of a doctoral degree: NT$ 73,025~91,420.
*The salary is based upon a teacher’s highest education level and years of teaching experience. Teaching experience only refers to full-time teaching experiences at a R.O.C. (Taiwan) public or legally registered private high school, junior high school, and elementary school, or a foreign public high school, junior high school, and elementary school. Teaching experiences of less than a year, invalid teaching license during terms of employment, or of a school principal will not be considered.
Airfare Allowance
The program offers reimbursements every school year of one’s economy class airfare of coming and leaving Taiwan (one time for each). The reimbursements are on an actual expense basis and are capped at NT$40,000/one-way. Only flights departing from or arriving at the nearest airport to the place of residence indicated on one’s passport can be reimbursed. One accompanying family member (spouse or lineal blood relative) is provided with reimbursements every school year of economy class airfare, on an actual expense basis and capped at NT$80,000 for round-trip and NT$40,000 for one-way.
Housing Allowance
The contract employer should offer a housing allowance if accommodations cannot be provided. An individual is provided with a housing allowance of NT$5,000 per month while a family is provided with NT$10,000 per month.
Performance Bonus
Teachers who have worked for a school year and have been graded A in annual performance are given an extra month’s pay as a bonus; teachers who have worked for a school year and have been graded B are given an extra 1/2 month's pay as a bonus.
Overtime Pay
For elementary school, each period is NT$400; for junior high school, each period is NT$450.
Health Insurance and Labor Insurance
Health insurance and labor insurance are provided.
ELIGIBILITY:
To qualify, the applicant must be proficient in speaking English and have a bachelor’s degree or higher, and must have no criminal record. A government -issued teaching license or credential is not required. Based on the record of the Taiwan National Immigration Agency, there were 193 Filipino teachers in Taiwan as of December 31, 2021.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Passport
- Please provide a copy of your passport with photo and personal information.
- Degree Certificate
- Applicants should obtain a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university or college. The list of the accredited universities and colleges is based on the Database for the Reference List of Foreign Universities from the Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan) website
- State-Issued Teaching License/Certificate
- Applicants should obtain a valid state-issued teaching license or certificate.
- Police Check/Police Clearance Certificate
- The applicant should provide a criminal record certificate/police check issued after January 1, 2022 from competent authorities in his or her home country or the country he or she currently resides in.
- Statement of Purpose
- A statement of purpose within 700-1500 words. You may include the following aspects in the statement of purpose: your motivation for applying, your background, why you are a good fit for our positions, your career plan, the objectives you wish to accomplish during your time in Taiwan, and your perspective and philosophy of teaching.
- Teaching Demonstration Video
- The video shall be 4-5 minutes in length (the part over 5 minutes may not be evaluated) and include you teaching a specific topic, concept, or a particular skill. We expect to observe your teaching style, teaching logic, teaching skills, and teaching strategies through the video.
- 2 Recommendation Letters
- The recommendation letters can be from your teachers, professors, previous or current managers and colleagues, who have known you for a period of time and know about your performance at work.[For more information, read the full story here:]
