Theme: “Revisiting the EDCOM of 1991: Continuities and Discontinuities in Philippine Education Sector Reform.” The event will take a look back at the 1991 EDCOM Report.
The public forum will feature Sen. Win Gatchalian, Rep. Roman T. Romulo, Social Watch Philippines Co-Convenor Mr. Rene R. Raya, and PBED Policy and Advocacy Manager Mr. Marco Dominic De Los Reyes as reactors.
Serving as discussants are DepEd Sec. Leonor M. Briones, CHED Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, TESDA Planning Office Executive Director Rosalina S. Constantino, Synergeia Foundation CEO Dr. Milwida M. Guevara, E-Net Philippines President Prof. Flora Arellano, and Former Student Regent of PUP Mr. Elijah San Fernando. Dr. Maria Victoria R. Raquiza, Co-Convenor of Social Watch Philippines, and Dr. Reginald G. Uggadan, College Secretary and Director of UPNCPAG-CPAGE, will act as moderators.
Prof. Alex B. Brillantes, Jr., Ph.D., Asst. Prof. Herisadel P. Flores, Ms. Melanie G. Riva, and Mr. Jan Rhobert M. Melendrez will be delivering a presentation on the findings of the 1991 EDCOM Report. They will be presenting the proposed legislative agenda and policy recommendations articulated in the report, the current status of their implementation, and their outcomes.
Prof. Dan A. Saguil, Dean of UPNCPAG, will deliver the closing remarks.
