𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗛𝗜𝗡 | 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱, 𝗕𝗖𝗦𝗣, 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗼, 𝗺𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹

Hunyo 01, 2021 – Alinsunod sa pagdiriwang ng International Day for Biological Diversity nitong Mayo 22, ipinakilala ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon (DepEd), sa pakikipagtulungan sa Biodiversity Conservation Society of the Philippines (BCSP), ang Samot-Saring Buhay: A toolkit on Philippine Biodiversity upang magbigay ng pagpapahalaga at kamalayan sa mayamang biodiversity ng bansa nitong nakaraang Mayo 21.

Ginawa upang hikayatin ang partisipasyon at pangunguna ng mga guro at mag-aaral sa conservation efforts, ang Samot-Saring Buhay Toolkit ay nagbibigay ng mga impormasyon sa Philippine biodiversity, banta, at conservation efforts. Tinatalakay rin dito ang mga kinahaharap na pagsubok ng biodiversity at ang epekto nito sa kalusugan, ekonomiya, at katatagan nito sa mga banta at panganib.

“Recognizing the role of the youth as partners in nurturing and renewing Philippine diversity, we in the Department of Education hold responsibility to equip more learners with the appropriate learning and thinking skills that will enable them to become agents of change and advocates of biodiversity,” saad ni Kalihim sa Edukasyon Leonor Magtolis Briones.

Habang isinasagawa ang online launch, ibinahagi ni BCSP President Mr. Ranier Manalo ang importansya ng toolkit sa aspektong panlipunan at pang-kapaligiran.

“We are also aware that this often involves complex issues in our daily lives, in terms of psychological, social, and economic significance. But at the end of the day we require policy harmonization for conservation and sustainability needs, this toolkit is for all of us,” ani Mr. Manalo.

Nagbahagi rin sina Pangalawang Kalihim sa Curriculum and Instruction Diosdado San Antonio at Pangalawang Kalihim sa Administrasyon Alain Del B. Pascua ng kanilang pagkalugod sa paglikha ng biodiversity toolkit para sa mga guro.

“We are thankful that we have this toolkit so that our schools and teachers can help heighten our advocacy for quality education, for quality health, and quality life,” pagbabahagi ni Usec. San Antonio.

“In line with the Department of Education’s core value Makakalikasan, this tool kit, which has been put together by advocates for the Philippine environment from different agencies and organizations, is a way of ensuring the continued protection and conservation of our natural resources. We do this by empowering our Filipino youth thru education and appreciation of our country’s biodiversity,” dagdag ni Usec. Pascua.

Ang produksyon ng toolkit ay pinangunahan ng Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS) sa ilalim ng Administration Strand at malapit nang magamit at ma-download nang libre sa iba’t ibang DepEd platforms gaya ng DepEd Commons, DepEd LMRDS, at Microsite para sa mga nilikhang materyales sa pagtuturo ng climate change.
