BeChangeMaker is a virtual social entrepreneurship training program created by WorldSkills International and the HP Foundation. It invites people ages 18–35 to create teams and develop their entrepreneurship skills by designing a socially responsible business.
The program is free to enter and because it’s virtual, you don’t need to be in the same town, city, or country as your teammates to participate. Taking part will enable you to learn relevant new skills to help you prepare for the future, whether you want to continue your education, pursue a career as an entrepreneur, or enter the world of work.
Thirty teams will be selected to take part in the program. They will each receive virtual coaching from HP employee experts as well as access to resources (including HP LIFE online courses) to enable them to progress their ideas.
At the end of the program, five teams will be chosen to pitch their business ideas at a virtual event. Judges will select three teams to receive €2,000 in funding and all five teams will receive customized coaching worth €1,000 to help them develop their businesses further.
Last year’s top three BeChangeMaker teams developed innovative business solutions for making it easier for diabetes sufferers to manage their symptoms, encouraged sustainable consumption habits, and worked to protect women against violence.
“BeChangeMaker has been an amazing journey. It was the perfect
support for a new venture and has accelerated our project timelines far
ahead of what we anticipated.” |
Join BeChangeMaker 2021 to help bring your amazing ideas to life and make the world a better place. If you know of other individuals or teams who would be interested in taking part, please let them know so they can join too. Applications are due by 4 June.
