DepEd: Science and Math Teachers are encourage to apply for a government-issued graduate scholarship

HS Science, Math teachers encouraged to take up graduate education through gov’t scholarship

The Department of Education, recently released the DepEd Memorandum No. 15, s. 2021, grant is open for High School Science and Mathematics (S & M) teachers currently working with teaching load and teaching experience of at least seven years. In addition, awardees will also receive PhP 20,000.00 tuition grant per semester and PhP 60,000.00 thesis grant.

Thus, Department of Education (DepEd) encouraged high school Science and Mathematics teachers to apply for a government-issued graduate scholarship, via of Part-Time Scholarship for Science and Mathematics Teachers of Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI).

The program aims to make graduate education more accessible to excellent Science and Mathematics (S & M) teachers with limited financial capacity to continue their graduate studies; upgrade S & M teaching in secondary school through of teacher education programs; and to accelerate the development of science and math education experts.
 
“We educators must always strive for lifelong learning. We need to be constantly educated, and we must always strive to possess mastery in our fields. It is important that we do this so we can impart new learnings to our learners,” pagbibigay-diin ni Kalihim Briones.
 
In addition to this, the said program is under the Capacity Building Program in Science and Mathematics Education (CBPSME), in collaboration with the National Consortium in Graduate Science and Mathematics Education and the S & T Regional Alliance of Universities for National Development (STRAND).
 
There are 16 CBPSME and three (3) STRAND universities across the Philippines that will serve as study placements for scholarship.
