DepEd News! Just In! DepEd, receive gadgets from BOC as aid in distance learning
DepEd receive 198 pieces of laptops with specifications of 256 gigabytes (GB) to 1 terabyte (TB), and 4,840 smartphones with 4 GB to 8 GB RAM and 128 GB maximum storage, intended to be distributed in selected public schools.
The laptops and smartphones were donated by the Bureau of Customs ( BOC). It was formally received by the Department of Education on Friday, February 29, 2021, the turn ceremony took place at South Harbor, Port Area.
Here's the statement of the Secretary of Education during the ceremony,
“I appreciate the fact that even noon pa, Customs was already contributing to the education [sector]. Hanggang ngayon, it is still articulated by the Bureau of Customs,” ani Kalihim ng Edukasyon Leonor Magtolis Briones sa kasagdagan ng pagtitipon.
“What makes it so meaningful for us in the Department is that we did not go begging to the Bureau [of Customs]. But, you took it upon yourself [to help our distance learning initiative] so this is in keeping with the tradition of supporting education,” dagdag ni Briones.
So, lets all wait for the official announcement of the list of schools who will receive the Gadgets.
